Fall Gallery Opening Reception: A Taste of Belonging

What can a plate of food reveal about a society? This exhibition explores how food shapes and reflects Israeli identity, culture, and public life, from cherished family recipes and holiday tables to food trends, celebrity chefs, and the bold creativity of today’s culinary scene. Following the reception, curator Dr. Smadar Sheffi will join writer, editor, and GOLDA founder Stephanie Butnick for a conversation exploring the intersections of art, culture, and cuisine. Together, they’ll consider how food becomes far more than nourishment — serving as a source of identity, storytelling, nostalgia, innovation, and, at times, a cultural battleground.
