Little New-Yorkers: Finding My Dance

Happy Women’s History Month! In Finding My Dance, written by Ria Thundercloud and illustrated by Kalila J. Fuller, we’ll meet Ria when she was just four years old, preparing to enter the powwow circle in her first jingle dress. Both of Ria’s tribes, the Ho-Chunk Nation and the Sandia Pueblo, value dance and as she grew, dance became Ria’s favorite thing to do! She learned every style she could and became a professional Indigenous dancer! After the story, design your own dancing clothes inspired by your own family traditions.  Join us every Tuesday and Friday at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
