Matcha Bowl Workshop

Pottery and tea lovers alike will love this hands-on workshop. First you will learn the process of making matcha in a chawan (a traditional, ceramic bowl designed for preparing and drinking matcha) and observe the elements of the chawan that make the best matcha. Then, while you enjoy your freshly brewed tea, you will make your own chawan. This workshop is led by ceramicist Kay Kojima. (https://www.kinka.nyc/kay-kojima) Each student will receive their own matcha and whisk to recreate the process at home. One chawan bowl per student is included in the firing of the class. Additional chawan can be fired at the cost of $10 per bowl. Firing of bowls usually takes 3 weeks.
