Sunday Story Time: Glenn Burke, Game Changer: the Man Who Invented the High Five
Happy Pride Month! Today we are reading Glenn Burke, Game Changer: The Man Who Invented the High Five, written by Phil Bildner and illustrated by Daniel J. O'Brien. Ever since he was a kid, Glenn Burke loved to play baseball. When he grew up, he joined the LA Dodgers and became the first openly gay Major League Baseball player. And one day in 1977, he created one of the world’s most recognizable gestures: the high five! After the story, we’ll make our own celebratory high five craft! Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
