Sunday Story Time: Lumber Jills: the Unsung Heroines of World War Ii
We’re celebrating Women’s History Month at Sunday Story Time! Timber-ho! During World War II, Great Britain needed lumber to make planes and ships, but there were not enough men to chop down the trees. So, a group of young women signed up for the job! We’ll hear their story in Lumber Jills, written by Alexandra Davis and illustrated by Katie Hickey. After the read aloud, decorate your own pair of socks, inspired by the ones the Lumber Jills wore to work! Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
