Sunday Story Time: Sewing Stories

Happy Women’s History Month! This week we will be reading Sewing Stories: Harriet Powers’ Journey from Slave to Artist, written by Barbara Herkert and illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. Harriet learned to sew and quilt when she was a little girl, and when she grew up she started making quilts that told stories, quilts that were pieces of art. After the story we will make our own paper and fabric quilts, inspired by Harriet! Join us every Sunday in person at the Museum for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do after the story.
