The Westerlies: Improvisation For Everyone

MENTOR SESSIONS The Grammy-nominated brass quartet The Westerlies strongly believe in improvisation as a universal means of personal expression and communication. In this hands-on workshop for musicians of all instruments, experience levels and stylistic backgrounds, they’ll break down the fear and barriers to improvisation through a series of group improvisation games and activities. In a short time, the participants will lead their own improvised pieces and create graphic scores to document and perform their work. Student–artist collaborations at Kaufman Music Center are made possible with support from The Roz Lasker Artist Mentorship Fund.
