STEAM for Kids: Earth Day STEAM Challenge: Water Filtration
This program will take place indoors at the West New Brighton Library. Water filtration systems help provide clean water for cities and communities. Engineers design filters that remove harmful particles and improve water quality. Join our children's staff for this hands-on program as we become environmental engineers who can work through a design process to build a simple system for cleaning water. Watch as different layers trap sediment and our working filters remove dirt, but not germs! Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Parent participation is encouraged. Due to time constraints, late arrivals may not be fully accommodated. Sign up for the biweekly NYPL Kids e-newsletter to get information on free children's programs, upcoming author talks, and more happening at the Library and online. Audience: Children, School Age (6-12 years) Assistive Listening and ASL ASL interpretation and real-time captioning (CART) are available upon request. Please submit your request via this form or contact the hosting library at least two weeks in advance.
