Settle in for a fantastical holiday show! No need to battle the Mouse King. Dance through the land of the Sugarplum Fairy with Intempo Dance Ensemble as they bring a preview of The Nutcracker to the Museum. Step into the reverie of little Clara in an unforgettable holiday tale and enter a magical wonderland of toy soldiers, a blizzard of snowflakes, and a kaleidoscope of imaginative dancers. ‍ WHAT'S HAPPENING? Little Builders Playtime : Build, stack, and create your own magical castles using ice cubes, sugar cubes, and magnetic tiles! When: At 10 am and 2 pm in Celebrations Room ‍ Design Your Own Nutcracker: Decorate your own wooden nutcracker using paint and your imagination to create a festive holiday figure perfect for gifts or decoration! Limit 12 participants ages 3+. Sign ups open one hour prior to each workshop. When: From 10 am to 3 pm in Chevron Maker Lab ‍ Mini Drama: Penguin Pals : Participate in a playful, interactive story where families help two penguin friends solve a problem using movement, teamwork, and thoughtful discussion about kindness, fairness and listening to others. When: At 11 am and 1 pm in the Parent Resource Library ‍ Intempo Dance – Nutcracker Excerpt : Experience the magic of the holidays as Intempo Dance Ensemble performs enchanting excerpts from The Nutcracker. When: At 12 and 2 pm in Brown Auditorium ‍ ‍ ON-GOING ACTIVITIES Popsicle Stick Nutcrackers : Design and build your own colorful Nutcracker using craft sticks! When: All Day in Chevron Maker Annex ‍ Paper Snowflakes : Cut, fold, and create unique paper snowflakes to add a little winter magic to your day! When: All Day in Science Station ‍ Winter Shrinky Dinks : Design a winter-themed Shrinky Dink and watch your artwork transform into a tiny keepsake! When: All Day in Science Station ‍ Evergreen Trees : Make a festive 3D evergreen tree using paper, scissors and coloring supplies to celebrate the holiday season.
