Make a Zine! A 6 Part Class w/SMUSH Gallery @ Main Branch of the JC Library [OFF SITE]

Mondays November 2 - December 7 | 6-7:30p Free! Registration Required Come on down to the Priscilla Gardner Main Branch of the Jersey City  Free Public Library off beautiful Van Vorst Park (472 Jersey Ave) for  SIX MONDAYS IN A ROW -- we're going to start a zine and, by gosh, we're  going to finish it, too! Join zine enthusiast and SMUSH Gallery's  Founding Artistic Director Katelyn Halpern on a journey up zine  mountain. You'll learn all about zines - history, style, and function;  tour an inspiring zine collection; and make your own zine from start to  finish. We'll work together on form, concept, and content, and you'll  learn tips and tricks of the trade. At the end of the class, you'll walk  away with a dozen copies of your complete, original zine, and the  chance to include your zine in the upcoming Zine Show at SMUSH Gallery,  opening January 2027. No experience is required, and all necessary materials are provided. Attendance at all six sessions is strongly encouraged; if you have to  miss a session, make it one of the middle ones (not the start or end). If you'd like to bring materials, recommendations include: collage  materials, special pens or paper, special scissors, stickers, stamps,  reference materials, and/or a laptop.
