Watercolor Painting: Wet Brush Techniques

Family-friendly event in Brooklyn, New York.

Are you new to watercolors? Have you dabbled in it and want to practice different brush techniques? Join Brooklyn Bridge Park educators and learn different ways to use your brushes and apply paint. In Session 1 (on December 6) we will focus on wet brush techniques and in Session 2 (on December 13) we will focus on dry brush techniques. In both, we will be applying what we learn towards botanical art. Please note that you DO NOT have to attend both sessions. No previous experience necessary. This workshop is best suited for ages 13 and up. All materials will be provided, but if you have a favorite watercolor brush, feel free to bring it. The event is first-come, first-serve with 25 spots available. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required. Register Now! Accessibility Note: Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions. The workshop will take place at the Environmental Education Center at 99 Plymouth Street, which is an accessible building. The classroom itself has a low-pile carpet. Seating is on stools. There is regular muted noise from trains above. Bathrooms with accessible stalls are available in the building.
